Internet and Other Advanced Telecommunication Technologies

Preview:
Internet-A global computer network providing a variety of information and communication facilities, consisting of interconnected networks using standardized communication protocols.
The Internet is named after the Internet Protocol, the standard communications protocol used by every computer on the Internet. The Internet can powerfully leverage your ability to find, manage, and share information.
The word "cyberspace" was coined by the science fiction author William Gibson, when he sought a name to describe his vision of a global computer network, linking all people, machines and sources of information in the world, and through which one could move or "navigate" as through a virtual space.
The most direct implementation of the latter idea is the technology of virtual reality, where a continuous three-dimensional space is generated by computer, which reacts to the user's movements and manipulations like a real physical space would. In a more metaphorical way, the geometry (or at least topology) of space can be found in the network of links and references characterizing a hypertext (which can be seen as the most general form for a collection of interlinked data). Nodes in a hypertext can be close or distant, depending on the number of links one must traverse in order to get from the one to the other. Moreover, the set of links in a given node define a number of directions in which one can move. However, a hypertext does not seem to have any determined number of dimensions (except perhaps infinity), it is not continuous but "chunky", and the distance between two points is in general different depending on the point from which one starts to move.

Television Technology
Our television sets are not averse to the latest developments in technology as well, and they have come a long way since the mundane black and white TV sets of old. Today we view our content on HDTV (High Definition Television) sets. These offer us tremendous amounts of TV resolutions, and they have taken TV viewing to whole new levels. You must read about the new 1080p resolution to understand this, and this will also explain to you which is better, 1080i or p.Some of the latest developments in technology for this area are those involving Digital TV and DirecTV, which enable one to get the best TV shows and TV channels of your choice right on your TV set, or even your computer. Apple Computers has also recently adopted a technology through which you can get the shows of your choice on your TV set with the help of an iPhone.

Narrative/ Things I learned:

The reporters gave justification about the topics. They've gave their inputs about the topics and I highly agree to their inputs especially about the internet usage.
The entire world has changed since the internet has become available. Most teens do not even know how to use a library because all of their research, reports and homework are done at home by using the internet. While this is a benefit, some teens get into trouble online by accessing sites that should be restricted.
Some schools have their entire syllabus posted on a website so that students can access it at any time. This allows teens to make sure they have all of their assignments. Some sites even allow students to email and chat with teachers while working on a project. Research has become much easier with the Internet and teen students definitely benefit from this.
